Выдающийся законоучитель. автор труда о 613 мицвот — «Минхат хинух» был раввином галицийских городов Гускова и Збаража, где возглавлял местную йешиву в первой половине 19-го века. В последние годы жизни был раввином Тернополя. На месте главы тернопольской общины. Его именем названа улица в Тернополе.
