Известен своим трудом "Маасе Рокеах". С 1708 года раввин Кракова, с 1714 - раввин в Бродах. В 1735 году получил приглашение от амстердамской общины стать из раввином, которое он принял. В честь Элиэзера была выгравирована медаль. Исключил Моше Луцато из общины. В 1740 году совершил алию и поселился в Цфате. Узнав, что многие уважаемые члены общины читают работы Нехемии Хаюна и других последователей Шабтая Цви, Элиэзер стал с этим бороться. Усилия не увенчались успехом и он думал о возвращении в Европу, когда вмешалась смерть. Был выдающимся талмудистом. глубоким знатоком каббалы и толкователем Торы.
