Норман Кон (англ. Norman Rufus Colin Cohn; 12.01.1915, Лондон — 31.07.2007, Кембридж) — британский историк. Профессор Сассекского университета (1973-80, эмерит). Член Британской академии (1978). Родился в семье еврея и католички. Учился лингвистике в оксфордском колледже Крайст-Чёрч, который окончил и где затем занимался исследованиями до 1939 года. Служил в армии, в частности в разведке. После демобилизации в 1946-51 гг. лектор французского в Университете Глазго. Затем преподавал профессором французский в Ирландии (в 1951-60 гг.) и Ньюкасле (в последнем — в Кингс-колледже Даремского ун-та, до 1963 года). С 1963 года директор университетского центра, в 1973-80 гг. профессор Сассекского университета, затем эмерит. В 1986-89 гг. приглашённый профессор в лондонском Кингс-колледже. Был избран членом Британской академии по рекомендации И. Берлина. Умер от болезни сердца. Свою последнюю книгу выпустил в 1996 году. В книге "Cosmos, Chaos and the World to Come: The Ancient Roots of Apocalyptic Faith" (1993) Кон представляет, что первым ввёвшим в религию идею "Судного дня" ("Страшного суда") был Зороастр(4).
