Младший сын Цруйи. Известен своей быстроногостью. Был убит Авнером, которого он преследовал под Гивоном, сражаясь в армии Иоава (Шмуэль 2). Когда Асаэль догнал Авнера, тот умолял его отпустить его, но Асаэль не согласился. Тогда Авнер метнул тупой конец копья в живот Асаэлю и тот умер на месте. Асаэль был одним из "доблестной тридцатки" Давида (Шмуэль 2, Хроники 1).
