    served in Austrian Artillery 1914-15, rising to rank of Lieut.; 1915-19 a prisoner in Italy; became a lawyer and banker in Vienna; 1938 he and his wife fled the Nazis; they separated but they did not divorce, he going to Britain with Esti remaining in France; July-Nov 1940 interned in Huyton as a 'foreign enemy'; published bio of his father; after coming to England he ended up as a tobacconist near the British Museum in London.
