Origin of the name Lozovatsky

This name comes from the name of the village Lozuvatka located not far from Shpola in Kiev gubernia.
Apparently it was from this village that Lozovatskis were banished in accord with the Russian czar's edict on banishing of Jews from villages…
However, mainly, they did not move far away. In the end of the 19-th century Losovatsky families lived in such places as Shpola, Zvenigorodok, Belaya Tserkov and others.
In the beginning of the 20-th century part of the Lozavatsky family moved to America.
The family name is rather rare while the village Lozuvatka is small so we would conjecture that all people with this name are relatives. There are several more forms of writing this name - Lozovacki, Lozovitsky and Lozovicki.
