What Are the Stages of the All-on-4® Treatment?

 There are three stages in the All-on-4® treatment process, they include:

Stage 1: Initial Consultation

During this first stage, you’ll see your dentist, who will evaluate your situation. During the consultation, you get to ask about the procedure, and the dentist will ask you about your needs.

You’ll also discuss your medical history and other medical problems to determine if the procedure is correct for you. Then, the dentist will examine your mouth as well as take x-rays and imaging. If the process is suitable for you, it will be scheduled.

Stage 2: Procedure

You will undergo surgery to remove the remaining teeth and insert the four implants in your jawbone. The implants are placed, and an abutment is attached. During surgery, you are under anaesthetic. A set of dentures are then set in your mouth. These temporary dentures can be used until the implants are fully intergraded with the jawbone. Then your permanent new teeth are inserted, and you begin the recovery process.

The procedure takes three days. Day one is the surgery, which involves inserting the four implants. Day two is the try in a day where you try your new set of teeth. In case of discomfort, adjustments are made. Day three, your new teeth are fixed permanently.

Stage 3: Follow-up appointment and recovery

Your dentist will book you in for an appointment two weeks after the placement. And from there, every two months for six months. You will also be required to take care of your implants as you recover. In case you experience pain, your dentist will prescribe pain medication.
