Калдор, Николас - Биография

Николас Калдор (Nicholas Kaldor; 12 мая, 1908, Будапешт, Венгрия — 30 сентября, 1986, Папворт Эверард, Кембриджшир, Великобритания) — английский экономист.

Биография

Учился в Будапеште, Берлине, затем в Лондонской школе экономики и политических наук, где впоследствии читал лекции. После Второй мировой войны работал в Европейской экономической комиссии ООН. С 1964 г. был советником правительства лейбористской партии и также правительств нескольких других стран. С 1966 г. профессор Кембриджского университета. В 1974 г. был удостоен титула пожизненный пэр барон Калдор.

В сфере его интересов в экономической науке были проблемы экономического роста, занятости и инфляции. Его именем названы разработанные критерий оценки благосостояния (критерий Калдора-Хикса) и теория роста Калдора, он автор термина удобная доходность.
