Раввин, сначала учился в Кёльне и Майнце, затем в Италии, у раввина Авраама, впоследствии ставшим тестем Якова. Около 1460 года жил в Падуе, где написал свою книгу Сефер Хазон. С 1487 года работал учёным корректором в неапольской типографии Иосифа сына Якова Ашкеназа Гугенхаузера, где и был опубликован, вместе с Сефер Хазон, главный труд Ландау - "Агур". Этот галахический труд получил широкое хождение и был первой книгой, вышедшей с раввинскими "хаскамот" - рецензиями.
