Chateau de l'Escarelle 'Rumeurs' Rose

Chateau l'Escarelle's 100 hectares of vines flourish amid 1,000 hectares of stunning, protected countryside in the very heart of Provence. Less than an hour's drive east of Aix-en-Provence, the estate is famous for its beautifully aromatic and enticing dry Rosé wines that are made from a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault. The vines are planted in limestone soil on terraces separated by dry-stone walls at an altitude of up to 500 meters, naturally following the shape of Escarelle's hills and the Montagne de la Loube.
Whether it’s playful and fun or savory and serious, most rosé today is not your grandmother’s White Zinfandel, though that category remains strong. Pink wine has recently become quite trendy, and this time around it’s commonly quite dry. Since the pigment in red wines comes from keeping fermenting juice in contact with the grape skins for an extended period, it follows that a pink wine can be made using just a brief period of skin contact—usually just a couple of days. The resulting color depends on the grape variety and winemaking style, ranging from pale salmon to deep magenta.
Chateau de l'Escarelle 'Rumeurs' Rose is Radiant and pale pink in appearance. Summer fruits, blackcurrant, and raspberry on the nose. A wonderfully elegant Rosé. A fun, generous wine, ideal for sharing with friends. The fruity aromas of this easy-drinking wine make it perfect for an aperitif or enjoyed with tapas, a tasty pizza, or a little charcuterie.
