Feel the Difference in Ardbeg Ten Years Old- Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Almost everyone around the globe considers Ardbeg Ten year old Scotch whiskey[1] to be the smoothest, smokiest and very intricate single malt of them all. Instead of displaying the peat, it gives way to the makes inherent sweetness to create a whisky with ideal amount of harmony. Generally speaking whiskies are chill filtered and diluted to a 40% ABC strength. However, Ardebeg Ten years Old is non- chill filtered and has a 46% ABV strength, preserving the fullest flavour while also adding extra body and depth. It’s whisky that hasn’t had any of the nice stuff removed.

Ardbeg 10 year was first added to the Islay distilleries standard lineup in 2008, having first been made available in 2000 following the distillery’s reopening as a special limited edition bottle branded as “Introducing Ten Years old ” combined maturation in first and second fill bourbon barrels. Naturally coloured, unfiltered and bottled at 46%.

Nose: vanilla is followed by a mountain of peat, citrus fruits and sea spray clouds.

Palate: That familiar and beloved rushing Ardbeg smoke, lemon and lime to offset the sweet vanilla.

Extended and Awesome finishing: Sea salt caramel and smoke from a beach bonfire.

Aroma: A seductive blend of toffee and chocolate richness, cinnamon.spice and melon, pear drips, a light creaminess, as well as the crisp citrus and floral flavours of white wine, are all discernible. Sea spray and smoked fish also include fresh phenolic. On the final stretch, hickory and coffee appear. The fragrances emerging from the glass will swirl as you add water and inhale them. A marine minerality gives chalky cliffs a breath of chilly, briny sea spray. Beeswax, coal are soap, waxed lemon and lime, and herbaceous pine forests are next. Warm hazelnut and almond toffee is combined with toasted vanilla, sizzling cinnamon, and a foundation of savoury sweetness.

Taste: The tongue experiences millions of flavours as an outcome of a crackling peat blowing up.

Final Thoughts

This scotch whisky is admired for its harmonious smoke and beer flavour. Lemon, smoke, peat, brine, and a hint of sweet cereal are all present in the scent. Warm and smokey on the palate, it has strong yet well-balanced flavours that complement the aromas. Long, sweet and smokey in the end. Serve without adding any water or plain as such. Many people think that the unique spirit still on Islay, the sole one of its sort, contributes to its intricate and equilibrium, thereby making this Ardbeg the malt to which others aspire. It’s undoubtedly the ultimate Islay Malt.
