Ben-Hur - description

Ben Hur is a TV miniseries that first aired in 2010.

The series is based on the best selling novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ by Lew Wallace, written in 1880. The book gave rise to many stage and film adaptations, including the 1959 MGM epic starring Charlton Heston.

The 2010 mini-series was produced by Alchemy Television Group and Drimtim Entertainment, with others. It aired on Canada's CBC network on April 4 and April 11, 2010, and aired later in 2010 on ABC in the United States. It was directed by Steve Shill and stars Kristin Kreuk, Ray Winstone, Art Malik, Hugh Bonneville and Joseph Morgan as Judah Ben-Hur. The film was written by Alan Sharp. It is said that the miniseries will play down the religious elements found in the 1959 movie, Ben Hur.
