Hillel Weinberg - Biography

Hillel Weinberg is an Orthodox Jewish rabbi and rosh yeshiva of Aish HaTorah.

After the passing of his father, Rabbi Noah Weinberg, in February 2009, Rabbi Hillel Weinberg became dean of the Aish HaTorah yeshiva in Jerusalem.

Biography

Yosef Hillel Weinberg was born in Jerusalem, Israel and grew up in the Kiryat Sanz neighborhood. He attended Slabodka Yeshiva in Bnei Brak and for one year learnt in the Lakewood Yeshiva under Rabbi Shneur Kotler. After returning to Bnei Brak he became the Mashgiach Ruchani of the Slabodka yeshiva, and served as the Mashgiach of Yeshivas HaRan in Jerusalem. He currently serves as a special advisor to Rabbi Yosef Sholom Eliashiv.

His mother, Rebbetzin Denah Weinberg, founded the EYAHT College of Jewish Studies for Women.

His paternal grandfather, Yitzchak Mattisyahu Weinberg, was a Slonimer Hasid and a grandson of the first Slonimer Rebbe, Rabbi Avrohom Weinberg. His paternal grandmother, Hinda, was a descendant of Rabbi Jacob ben Jacob Moses of Lissa, author of Nesivos Hamishpat.
