Советский литературовед, литературный критик, редактор. Подписан к репрессии по первой категории (расстрел) в списке "Москва-центр" в 1938 году. Приговорен к расстрелу за шпионаж и участие в контр-революционной террористической организации в 1939. Прах захоронен на территории Донского монастыря г. Москвы. Реабилитирован посмертно в 1957 году расстрелян в 1939 году.
