Во время войны остался сиротоф,так как мать погибла при пожаре,спасая вещи из дома.После окончания Второй мировой войны переехал вместе с сестрой Людой в Харьков.Воспитывался в семье родной тёти - Любови (Блюмы) Моисеевны.В 1995-м году эммигрировал в США,в Нью Йорк,где и провел остаток жизни. Работал снабженцем в магазине,а в США - в синагоге. Учился в мужской гимназии в Харькове.
