Заслуженный гидромеханизатор - строитель Советской гидроэнергетики. Родился во Франции, в 1912 г. вместе с родителями вернулся в Санкт-Петербург. В 1941 г. с первых дней Великой Отечественной войны ушел на фронт добровольцем. Командовал инженерно-минным батальоном, был трижды ранен, второй раз с потерей кисти правой руки. Вернулся в строй по личной просьбе с разрешения командующего фронтом. Сражался на Ленинградском, Воронежском, Центральном и Белорусских фронтах. После третьего тяжелого ранения в 1943 г. был демобилизован и вернулся на прежнюю работу в институт «Гидроэнергопроект», к тому времени переведенного в Москву. Его мужество и боевые заслуги были отмечены орденом Отечественной войны I степени и орденом Красной Звезды.
