
Modi Rosenfeld - Biography
Modi Rosenfeld (born April 29, 1970 in Tel Aviv, Israel), known professionally as Modi (born Mordechai Rosenfeld) is a stand-up comedian, actor, and cantor.
Biography
Rosenfeld was born in Israel and moved to Woodmere, New York with his family when he was seven years old. He graduated from George W. Hewlett High School in 1988 and Boston University in 1992, majoring in psychology and minoring in voice. Although he has called Los Angeles home, he owns an apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and currently lives in NYC.
Rosenfeld studied cantorial music at Yeshiva University's Belz School of Music and is a cantor, or chazzan at the Community Synagogue on 6th Street in Manhattan. He was a Wall Street international banker for Merrill Lynch before entering comedy.
Rosenfeld is an established headliner at comedy clubs and colleges across America and is a regular fixture on the comedy scene in both New York and Los Angeles. He performed at the launch party of the late Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon in Houston before takeoff. Ramon, the space shuttle payload specialist of STS-107, died in the fatal last mission of Columbia in 2003.
Rosenfeld has contributed to US Weekly as a member of the fashion police and was also semi-finalist on the fourth season of Last Comic Standing.
