Nessim Gaon - Biography
Nessim Gaon (pronounced NEE-SEEM GAH-OHN) (born 1922, in Khartoum, Sudan) is a Swiss financier who created the Noga company. Outside the business world, he has been very prominent in Jewish affairs, acting as president of the World Sephardi Federation since 1971. He has also been a vice president of the World Jewish Congress and chairman of the board of governors of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.

Born in the Sudan to Turkish Jews from Egypt.
Jewish life
Aside from all the posts Gaon has held in world Jewish organizations, he is also a founder, builder and member of Hekhal Haness Synagogue in Geneva.
