Pavel Polian - Biography

Pavel Markovich Polian (Павел Маркович Полян; born 31 August 1952) is a Russian geographer, historian and sociologist, Doctor of Geographical Sciences with the Institute of Geography (1998) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He authored over 300 publications. He is famous for his researches of history and geography of the forced migrations. He is also a well-known expert in literature, especially in Osip Mandelshtam's works.
