Randy West - Biography

Randy West (born Andrew Jay Abrams; October 12, 1947) is an American pornographic actor.

Early life and pre-porn career

West grew up in New York City, and later moved to South Florida. He originally hoped to play professional baseball (though he did play baseball for the University of Miami), but he instead decided to pursue a career as a singer. He was lead singer for several rock bands over the course of ten years, and also worked as a nude art model. He then moved to California in 1979. Randy was also a member of Chippendale's dance company, and worked as stripper at private events from 1980 to 1992. For porn he went with the name Randy West instead of his Jewish name.

Acting career

West began his porn career in 1978, in the film Mystique. In August 1980 he posed as the centerfold model in Playgirl magazine; he was the first person who posed with an erection. Later he also was cast as Robert Redford's body double in the film Indecent Proposal. He has worked with numerous porn actresses early on in their careers, including Jenna Jameson and Tera Patrick. He was the first male performer to work with Victoria Paris and Ashlyn Gere. West's sexual performance has been likened to that of a "human pile driver." He has appeared in over 1,300 films, alongside an estimated 2,500 different female co-stars.

Producer

He became a producer of adult films in 1993. His first release as a producer was Up and Cummers 1. With this and other series like I Love Lesbians, Real Female Masturbation and others, Randy West's videos focused on "Real people having real sex - what a novel idea!" In one final video he stated that one of his greatest pleasures was watching his female partners have orgasms. Episodes had a fairly standard format: A short interview with the female performer to establish some background facts. Whether these were somewhat fictionalized or not, the chat established the young lady as an individual. Then came a succession of sex acts, each with the female performer an avid participant, including in almost every case, her orgasm. Randy filmed Jenna Jameson's first ever scenes for "Up and Cummers 10" & "11." All of West's productions are distributed by Evil Angel. He is the CEO of Randy West Productions.
