Скрипач. Учился музыке в Киевском музыкальном училище, а затем в консерватории. Григорий Горовиц был в 1923 году одним из учредителей Киевской государственной филармонии. Был в 1930 году сослан на Соловки сроком на три года по обвинению в контрреволюционной деятельности; Повторно арестован в 1945 году в Таганроге, где работал преподавателем скрипки в музыкальной школе им. П. И. Чайковского; умер вскоре после освобождения в 1945 году. По одной из версий, покончил с собой.
